Happy New Year Beehive Nation!
I just finished reading a book by a woman who has played Beehive kickball for nearly 8 years. She has an absolutely harrowing story (check it out). After struggling to conceive, she and her husband began searching for a surrogate to help them have a child. And wouldn't you know it, a woman on their kickball team stepped up to help. If that's not a testament to the power of friendship and what we're trying to do here, I don't know what is! (p.s. their baby, Hope, is absolutely beautiful and regularly attends kickball at Sugarhouse Park...say hi this Spring!).
Okay, so maybe you're hungover and maybe you're not. Either way, January 1 isn't about reading so I'll keep this short and sweet.
Two pieces of news this month:
- Beehive Prom, our biggest and most fun party of the year, is February 4th. Professional DJ, private event space at the Gateway, Single n' Mingle hour, food, BYOB whatever you want, fun etc. Ticket prices go up $10 tomorrow! We've sold 100 tickets and only have space for 100 more so get on it!
- For the past 8 years we've used a piece of software called LeagueApps to help us keep this spaghetti bowl of fun well organized. We are switching to a new software provider called, LeagueLabs this month. The change should allow us to deliver an even better league experience. To read all about what you can expect, go here. TLDR: You'll get an email this month and need to change your password so we can move your information to the new platform. Another email to come about this mid-month :)
Next month...we unveil the T-shirt and League Prizes for 2023 leagues! Yay!
